Laura joined Christian Family Solutions in August 2016 as an intern in the school-based counseling program and transitioned to the Appleton clinic in September 2018. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Carson Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee, completed her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Concordia University–Wisconsin and is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree from Concordia University-Wisconsin.

Laura believes that God has given everyone a specific life story and strives to help individuals use that story to facilitate acceptance and healing through evidence-based approaches to therapy such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy.  She has additional training in treatment approaches used to facilitate healing from childhood emotional neglect (CEN). Laura works with individuals ages 14 through adult with a variety of presenting problems including anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, grief and loss, spirituality, life transitions and relationship issues by utilizing these treatment modalities.

Additionally, Laura specializes in working with individuals who have disabilities (physical, intellectual and developmental) and their families. Prior to joining the team at CFS, she served for eight years as an Advisor and Instructor at Shepherds College, the nation’s leading three year, post-secondary education program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Laura welcomes every individual’s story and hopes to meet each person right where they are in the midst of their journey.
